ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Capt. Max Bigney. Growing up on Hatteras island I was always fascinated by the water. I spent most of my time Surfing, Fishing, Kitesurfing and Sailing. I grew up on the on the Pamlico sound in Rodanthe, NC working for my parents at a small family run campground (Rodanthe Watersports and Campground). I went to college in 2019 right before covid hit. During covid, I decided online school was not for me and found myself fishing every chance I had, and quickly realized I was addicted. I dropped out, bought a small boat, and began spending almost all my time out on the Pamlico sound.

 

In June 2023, I received my captains license and decided I wanted to work on the water full time. I began working at a local tackle shop (Hatteras Jack) making custom fishing rods and picking up any odd job I could to save money to make my dream a reality. In February 2025 I upgraded my fishing vesesl and began the process of making it happen.

Im excited to show you what I love about being out on the waters surrounding Hatteras Island. I handcrafted a custom rod arsenal tailored for the species that inhabit our waters. I have spent years through trial and error learning about the methods of fishing in my area and I'm eager to share my knowledge with others.
